Our courses include:

Before you enrol

We offer two full-time intensive courses to prepare you for study at university:

  • Intensive English language booster: a one-month course to refresh your language skills, grammar and vocabulary in the context of topics of general interest such as British cultural and global issues.
  • Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes: a one-month course focusing on academic reading, writing, speaking and listening designed to introduce students to the conventions and requirements of study at a British university.

After you enrol

A number of our courses are specifically designed to support you with the type of tasks and assignments you will be asked to do on your main course. The courses listed below last for 10 weeks, with one class a week, with a special half price fee for Birkbeck students. For 2011-12, the fee for international students studying at Birkbeck is £150.
