Final-year GSM students transferring to Birkbeck

If you have completed less than 360 credits and need to undertake some additional Level 6 modules in order to graduate in the 2019-20 academic year, Birkbeck may be able to help you.

We are currently working closely with the University of Plymouth and GSM to provide opportunities for you to finish your degree over the next few months.

We understand that you may be anxious, but please continue to complete your current GSM studies as there is still time to complete the transfer process before teaching begins at Birkbeck. Your Student Support Office will continue to liaise with Birkbeck to make this process as smooth as possible.

Who to contact for advice

  • BSc (Hons) Business Management/HRM/Entrepreneurship/Creative Industries students should contact our for credit transfer advice.
  • Other business and finance-related programmes (including BSc Accounting and Finance) will be considered on a case-by-case basis and you should contact our for credit transfer advice.
  • For any other credit transfer or related queries you should email Birkbeck's for advice.

Please attach a copy of your most recent transcript when you email Birkbeck. In all cases include 'GSM student' as part of the subject line of your email.

Applying to take modules at Birkbeck

If you would like to apply to take Level 6 modules at Birkbeck to allow you to complete your degree, you can download our Inter-institutional Application Form for GSM students, which includes all necessary instructions.

The University of Plymouth has agreed to accept these modules to allow you to complete 360 credits to gain a University of Plymouth degree. This arrangement allows you to keep studying in London. Classes at Birkbeck start on 30 September 2019.

You do not have to pay a tuition fee to Birkbeck to study modules under this scheme as your registration is with the University of Plymouth. Birkbeck, University of London will collect the appropriation tuition fee directly from Plymouth.
