As a research-led institution, Birkbeck has considerable expertise as a distance learning provider. Indeed, not only are some of our distance learning courses unique to Birkbeck – as in undergraduate earth sciences - but others have been offered for more than 20 years.
At undergraduate level, you can choose from a wide range of earth science, environmental studies and geology courses, all of which are offered via CD-ROMs and supplemented by up-to-date information provided via the web.
At postgraduate level, we provide specialist courses in geographical information science and structural biology, as well as advanced courses in career management and organisational psychology. Each of these courses is designed to help you to develop advanced theoretical knowledge and high-level practical skills.
