We are dedicated to producing high-quality research and our thriving research environment is fed by a rich diet of visiting fellows, guest lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences.
The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise placed us in the top 20 Politics departments in the UK, with 45% of the research activities of our academic staff deemed to be of international significance.
Our physical location also contributes immeasurably to our research culture, as we are located at the heart of the University of London and among the other Bloomsbury colleges.
The Department has a research centre dedicated to the study of British Politics (the Centre for the Study of British Politics and Public Life) and a research group on Population, Environment and Resources.
