When Anthony encountered financial difficulties, he sought help from Birkbeck, which enabled him to continue his studies.
'I received a fee grant, and a course grant to cover the cost of textbooks. On top of that, I was given a student travel card with a 30 per cent discount on travel. The financial support from Birkbeck is a great help and has taken the cost burden out of studying. Without this, it would definitely have been more of a struggle. Birkbeck gives people a chance to take part in higher education who otherwise might not be able to do so.'
