Dr Iroise Dumontheil, a Researcher at the Birkbeck Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, has been chosen to take part in the 2016 I'm a Scientist, Get me Out of Here event, between 7 and 18 November.

The event is an exciting way for school students and members of the public to talk to scientists online, and to learn about science and how it relates to real life. The scientists are then judged, X-factor style, by the students. It is also an opportunity for scientists to find out what young people think about their research, and to talk to them about careers in science.

Dr Dumontheil will be talking about her research in on the brain, behaviour and thoughts of teenagers during the event. Students will be able to ask her questions at imascientist.org.uk.

Dr Dumontheil said: “I am really excited to be taking part in I’m a scientist! this year. It’s important that scientists talk to the public about their research and inspire the next generation to think about a career in science. I also think it’s going to be a lot of fun and expect that I’ll be learning from the students as well as them learning from me!”
