Birkbeck welcomes UCL to east London. The College is delighted that another University of London institution is joining Birkbeck in this exciting area of the capital, where we expect to continue seeing exciting growth and developments over the coming years.
Birkbeck committed to its east London project long before the Olympics were announced. We took our unique model of high quality, research intensive, part-time evening higher education to Stratford in 2007, in response to a government request to offer a range of HE styles in east London, which has the lowest rates of participation in HE in the capital. We will open a new, state-of-the-art facility, University Square Stratford, in partnership with the University of East London, in 2013.
