Birkbeck’s School of Arts will hit the silver screen this Boxing Day in new film Holmes & Watson. The Gordon Square building is lending its Georgian facade to the role of 221b Baker Street, the residence of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous character.

Holmes & Watson is the latest film to star comic duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly and sees the Step Brothers co-stars reunite for a comedic take on the famed literary characters Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson.

The film will take the brilliant minds of Holmes and Watson to Buckingham Palace to investigate a murder; and told by the assailant that if they do not solve the case within four days, the Queen will be the next victim.

The film features an all-star cast including Ralph Fiennes as antagonist James Moriarty, Kelly Macdonald as housekeeper Mrs Hudson, Rebecca Hall as the glamorous Dr Grace Hart and Rob Brydon as Inspector Lestrade, the head of Scotland Yard.
