New PhD sees scientific cross-over

A new BBSRC-funded interdisciplinary 4-year PhD programme at the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology (ISMB) has been launched. Based at UCL and Birkbeck, the programme aims to give students in-depth interdisciplinary training and opportunities for discovery at the interface of Structural, Chemical, and Computational Biology. "This is an excellent chance for students to study and be trained outside of the conventional disciplinary boundaries in a first class research environment," said Programme Director Professor Gabriel Waksman.

In their first year, students will undertake two linked lab rotation projects while also receiving technical training from leading experts in the ISMB. With these skills in hand, students will then focus on a single multidisciplinary project for their PhD, selected from the wide range of research areas currently under investigation by ISMB members.

Applications from students seeking exciting research opportunities are now being accepted. Please click here for more information.
