Animals and the Sporting Life
The last in the sixth series of Lunchtime Lectures takes place on Wednesday 3 June, when Professor Steven Connor discusses Animals and the Sporting Life. The series has drawn on renowned researchers in History, Philosophy and English literature to explore the continuities and borders of humanity and animality.
Steven Connor is Professor of Modern Literature and Theory at Birkbeck, and his most recent books are the Book of Skin (2004), and Fly (2006) which explores the history of the fly in poetry, painting, religion and science.
