Alumni Fund Campaign raises over £100k
Birkbeck alumni have pledged more than £100,000 in this year's telephone campaign. Thirty four current students contacted more than 5,000 alumni in May, resulting in more than £100,000 pledged over three years. With donations still flooding in, it has been the most successful Alumni Fund campaign so far. The funds raised will help students who experience financial hardship during the course of their studies, as well as support projects that directly enhance the Birkbeck student experience.
"The response has been fantastic and Birkbeck alumni have once again showed they play an important part in the life of the College – as advocates, ambassadors, volunteers and donors," said Evana Topolovec, Development Manager. "But it wasn't all about fundraising. Alumni enjoyed reminiscing about their time at Birkbeck, remembering colleagues and lecturers, as well as discussing subject programmes and exams with current students. Many of those called were also keen to hear about the new developments taking place within the College."
