Using newspaper databases

  • When to use newspaper databases for your assignments
  • Where to find UK and international newspapers and trade press
  • How to conduct a comprehensive search in Nexis® UK (basic refiners)
  • How to explore the search results using the search tabs
  • How to find news articles from a particular publication

Finding “free to copy” images for your presentations

Thurs 29 March

You will:

  • Reflect on your image seeking patterns
  • Consider your legal responsibilities when using digital images from the web
  • Be given a selection of sources of copyright cleared images for enhancing your presentations (publicly shared and HE sources)
  • Explore what is considered as “acceptable use” using the Flickr Creative Commons pool
