Car parking
Birkbeck is in the London Borough of Camden’s Green Badge area. The National Blue Disabled Persons Badge holders system does not operate in this area. Therefore you must apply for a green badge from Camden Council, which will entitle you to park without charge in the numerous residents' parking bays, and pay and display zones in the area.
Applying for a Camden Green Badge
To obtain a Green Badge you need to:
- collect an application form from the Disability Office
- complete the form and send it to Camden Council along with two passport-size photos and a letter of support from Birkbeck stating the days and times of lectures.
With this information a green badge will be supplied to students free of charge. It takes about a month to obtain a Green Badge, and therefore we recommend you apply before your course commences.
Arranging temporary parking
If you are coming to Birkbeck for an interview or to attend a short course, we may be able to arrange disabled parking in one of Senate House's car parks. In order to arrange this, the Disability Office will need to know the make, colour and registration of your car and your Blue Disabled Person’s Badge number.
