What happens after you apply?
Once you have sent your application and proof of disability, your funding body should write and say if your application has been successful.
- If the answer is yes: your funding body will find out what you need and how much it will cost, usually by referring you to an access centre to have a needs assessment. The Disability Office will be pleased to arrange a needs assessment for you.
- If your application is turned down: You can ask for an explanation. If you disagree with the decision, you can ask Student Finance England to review your case. If the decision is reviewed and you still feel it is wrong, get in touch with them and ask how you can appeal against it.
