UEL passwords for students at Birkbeck, Stratford

If you are enrolled on a course at Birkbeck Stratford, you will receive a separate username and password for your UEL computer account. Your username will be a lower case 'u' followed by the number printed on your Birkbeck, Stratford ID card. The UEL username appears on your My Birkbeck profile underneath your ITS username.

Your initial password on the UEL system will be set to your date of birth in the format dd-mon-yy (e.g. 02-jan-83). You should change your password to something memorable and unique to you the first time you log onto the network.

If you forget your password you can ask the UEL Library or IT Services department to reset your password. Alternatively, you can use the UEL Password Recovery Service to reset your password or unlock your account.

Please note: At UEL you will be asked to change your password every 60 days but changes to passwords are not automatically synchronised between UEL and Birkbeck. We recommend that you change the password on both networks to be the same for your convenience and to avoid confusion.
