What do Birkbeck Graduates Do?
Each year, in the national Graduate Destination Survey, our graduates are asked to tell us how they're doing after completing their course. Using this survey, we aim to find out how many of our graduates are either in employment or studying - or a mixture of both - six months after leaving Birkbeck.
Here is what the cohort of 2010 were doing when we got in touch with them:
Undergraduates 2010

Postgraduates 2010

The survey also allows us to work out what the most popular jobs were for graduates. These are the top five graduate-level jobs for the 2010 cohort:
1. Secondary Teachers
2. University and Higher Education Lecturers
3. Managers and Proprietors in Other Services NEC
4. Public Service Associate Professionals in Central Government Departments and Local Offices
5. Social Science Researchers
If you want further information on what graduates do, check the Graduate Prospects site. There are useful sections on options by subject as well as how much you can earn.
The Graduate Prospects web site also has a detailed labour market information section, which provides interesting analyses of graduate jobs.
For specific information on the kinds of careers open to students on particular courses, please contact the school using the 'Contact us' details on our online listings.
