Mitigating circumstances are unforeseen, unpreventable circumstances that significantly disrupt your academic performance, such as an illness or bereavement.
If you wish mitigating circumstances to be taken into consideration:
- You should complete the standard and submit it, with documentary evidence as appropriate, to your course administrator, normally within seven days of the published final assessment deadline or examination.
- The case will then be considered by the Mitigation Sub-committee of the relevant Board of Examiners. This is in confidence, and you may request that only the Chair of the panel has sight of your form.
