Your candidate number

All Birkbeck written examinations are examined anonymously by candidate number instead of your name or your student number (found on your Birkbeck photo ID card). You will be allocated a unique candidate number each year which will consist of a letter plus six digits (e.g. H123456). Your candidate number is printed on your examination admissions notice and can be viewed in your My Birkbeck Profile page.

You must enter this number in the space provided on all examination answer booklets.

Your timetable and examination admission notice

You will be emailed when your individual examination timetable is available to view via your My Birkbeck Profile page. If any details are incorrect, please contact the Examination and Assessment Office. The summer 2012 timetable initially will not show the actual room locations, these will be published separately around Easter. You will be notified by email when these are available and at this stage you will be able to download your examination admission notice via your My Birkbeck Profile page.

Please check your Admission Notice carefully for the room allocations, bearing in mind that exams also take place in buildings away from the main building at Malet Street. Allow adequate time to locate your room before the exam if it is in a building that you are unfamiliar with since exams will start at the published time even if you haven't arrived.

Please ensure that you print your examination admission notice on plain paper and that it remain un-annotated for the examination period. Any markings or notes found on your examination admission notice will be treated as an examinations irregularity. Do not bring your admission notice inside a plastic wallet where notes or other unauthorised materials may be hidden. Invigilators will check this during the examination and any materials found will be confiscated and reported to the Examinations & Assessment Officen as an exam irregularity.

Students with special provisions

For students with agreed special provisions in examinations, please note that this information will not appear on your admission notice. You can find your provision within your My Birkbeck Profile at the bottom of the 'My Examination Timetable' link once the provision has been agreed and published. Your invigilators will be aware of this provision before the start of your examination.
