The College is inviting all students to attend a Student Consultative Forum session on the TEF on Wednesday 23 November at 6pm.
Have your say about the TEF
The Government is implementing a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) to measure teaching quality in universities. Ranking will depend on a number of factors, such as institutions’ scores in the National Student Survey (NSS), and how many students complete their degree. Institutions will be placed in a different band depending on their scores; the bands will be bronze, silver and gold. Depending on which band an institution is placed in there will be an impact on the amount of tuition fees an institution can charge their students on undergraduate degrees.
The College is inviting all students to attend a Student Consultative Forum session on the TEF on Wednesday 23 November at 6pm. Staff from the College will explain what TEF means for Birkbeck students, and you can let the College know what you think Birkbeck should do to improve teaching quality.
Do you think there is enough academic support available to you? Do lecturers advise you on which optional modules to choose? Have you been able to speak to a member of staff when you needed help with your studies? Come along and let us know what Birkbeck does well, and what we can do better. Attendees will be given a £10 book voucher for their troubles. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
