Birkbeck Diversity Week
15-19 November 2010
As part of a week-long celebration of diversity at Birkbeck, come and explore diversity in the arts through events that are both thought-provoking and fun.
We will be showcasing works of contemporary cinema with screenings of ‘Derek’ by Isaac Julien, John Akomfrah’s latest film ‘Mnemosyne’ and film shorts on race, gender and disability issues produced by World Armada. There will be panel discussions following the films.
Diversity week also features a creative movement workshop, a drop-in drumming session and a series of short talks on a range of cultural and topical issues. The Students' Union are also organising a social event in the Birkbeck bar during the week. All events are between 1 to 2 hours.
To find out more about the different events happening during the week visit our website at Diversity Week
