Module outlines
The module outline will normally include details on the following:
- entry requirements
- the aims and anticipated learning outcomes of the module
- the module content and which study skills (such as note-taking, writing coursework, using references and bibliographies, research and information gathering, using libraries) are important for supporting learning
- the teaching and learning methods that will be used in particular sessions, such as: group work, lectures, discussions, audio-visual materials, student presentations, tutorials, role play, independent study outside class and practical work
- the mode of assessment, for example: coursework and examinations, take home or unseen papers and when, where and how the assessment will take place
- the format of coursework, for example: reports, essays reviews, notes, group presentation, individual presentations, videos, case studies, journals, log books, project work, portfolios and deadlines for submission
- provisional dates and/or venues for visits, films, videos, guest speakers, slides, Saturday meetings and any other activities
- specific reading for different parts of the module; general reading for the module
