Arts Essay Writing Workshop 2: Understanding the Question

Answering the question on the page is the cornerstone of successful Academic Writing. No matter how accomplished a discussion it may be, if the essay strays from the set question which you are answering, you will not achieve a high grade. Indeed, your essay may not earn a pass mark.

In workshop 2, we discuss the rationale behind this aspect of British Academic Writing. We learn how to avoid 'the desire of the interpreter' as we learn new techniques for unpacking the essay question.

We explore the value of identifying: D-language, C- language, F- language, R- language.

All will be revealed in workshop 2.
