Language and Grammar Workshop: The Language of Academic English: Punctuation: Is It important?

In this workshop, we consider whether lecturers are unreasonably 'fussy' when they comment on inappropriate - or incomprehensible - punctuation.

We ask the provocative question: does the comma matter? We test the answer. Prepare to smile at the results.

This session explores and clarifies some basic conventions of punctuation in academic writing: full stops, commas, colons, semi-colons. And what do we do with the 'Oxford' comma?

This course is not currently timetabled. You can add your name to a waiting list if you are interested in attending at a future date.
