Fay Hicks Memorial Award

Instituted by Mr L G Hicks in memory of his wife, Fay, who was a student in the Geology department from 1981 until her death in 1989 shortly after being awarded the BSc degree.

An award from the fund is made (normally one each year) to a self-financing part-time undergraduate or part-time postgraduate student of the School of Earth Sciences distinguished by outstanding enthusiasm and perseverance in his/her studies. It may be used for any purpose connected with the study of geology.

The award is made on the recommendation of the School of Earth Sciences in the spring term.
