- Career Development Loans (CDL): this is for students unable to pay for their course themselves.
What you can apply for after you start your course
If you get into financial difficulties after you’ve started studying, you may be able to apply for the following bursaries and grants.
- Government Access to Learning Fund: for full- or part-time MPhil/PhD students
- Birkbeck College Awards: for part-time MPhil/PhD students who have started their course and had a change in circumstances.
- Birkbeck bursaries: we offer a range of bursaries for MPhil/PhD students.
