ESRC Studentships 2012/13
The College, as part of the Bloomsbury Consortium led by the Institute of Education, has ESRC Doctoral Training Centre status.
The Bloomsbury Doctoral Training Centre brings together world-class social science researchers from the Institute of Education, Birkbeck, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the School of Oriental and African Studies to offer outstanding research supervision, cutting-edge research methods training and ESRC-funded studentships.
The College will therefore be inviting applications for the following ESRC-funded Doctoral Studentships, to commence from October 2012. Please click on each department for further information.

Politics – 2 studentships
- The Department of Politics at Birkbeck and the Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS form this cluster. SOAS is renowned for its specialisms in regional politics and international relations, while Birkbeck has a strong research presence in political science and public policy. Both Departments offer also supervision in many areas of political theory.
