Entrance counselling

It is a legal requirement that any US student who has not previously received a Federal Stafford loan should first complete the Direct Loan Counselling interview.

Please choose 'Entrance Couselling'.  To find Birkbeck, please select 'United Kingdom' then 'University of London: Birkbeck' from the school lists.

The entrance counselling advises you on the different types of loans avaliable, repayment methods and schedules and also make you aware of any legal requirements of participating in the program

Exit counselling

It is a legal requirement that any US student who has received a Federal Stafford loan should complete the Direct Loan Exit Counselling once their studies are complete. Please choose 'Stafford Loan Counselling Interview' then 'Stafford Exit'. To find Birkbeck, please select 'United Kingdom' then 'University of London: Birkbeck' from the school lists.

The exit counselling advises you on repayment methods and schedules and also make you aware of any legal requirements of participating in the program.
