Paying your fees in instalments
We have a flexible approach to paying fees. You can spread the cost of your tuition fees by setting up an instalment plan. You can do this by:
- Completing the online direct debit instruction.
- Paying your first instalment on a credit or debit card.
The balance remaining will be spread over 7 instalments (or 4 instalments if you are starting a Foundation Degree in January).
- If you enrol later than 1 October 2010, your direct debit may not be collected on 1 November 2010, and a double payment would therefore be debited from your account on or after 1 December 2010 (or the next working day).
- If you enrol on or after 1 November 2010, you can still pay by direct debit as long as the full amount is paid by 1 May 2011. Alternatively you can pay in full or termly by credit/debit card or cash. Cash payments can only be made in person to the Fees Office.
How direct debit works
Once you have completed your direct debit instruction, we will pass your instructions to your Bank/Building Society.
The Bank/Building Society will make payments exactly in accordance with your written authority. They will make the first payment on your behalf on the 1st November (or next working day) and monthly thereafter to the following May. If the amount to be paid changes, we will inform you in advance so you can query any change should you wish.
You are fully guaranteed against errors. If a mistake is ever made over a Direct Debit payment taken from your account, your Bank/Building Society will make you an immediate refund, under the Direct Debit indemnity scheme.
You can cancel the instruction at any time by informing us, and your Bank/Building Society, in writing. Please note, if you cancel this instruction, you must arrange another method of payment immediately or your registration may be cancelled.
Please note we can only set up a Direct Debit from a UK bank account. Also, banks and building societies may not accept direct debit instructions for some types of account. If you are unsure on this point, you should check with your bank/building society before you submit your direct debit instruction.
