Robson-Scott Travel Bursaries 2011/12

These bursaries are open to part-time undergraduate and part-time postgraduate students of any discipline (part-time students taking a period of full-time study are also eligible to apply).

The purpose of the award is to assist with the cost of travel outside the United Kingdom for a short period of approved independent study. The value of the award will be according to the circumstances of the successful applicants but not normally more than £100.

Eligibility Criteria

You will be eligible to apply if you meet all the following criteria:

• You must be a 'Home' student.
• You must be enrolled for 2011/12 on a part-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.
• You must be planning to travel outside of the UK for a short period of approved independent study.

How to Apply

To apply, please download a copy of our application form.  The completed application form and supporting income evidence should be returned to:

Student Financial Support Office, Birkbeck, The Registry, Malet Street, London, WC1E 7HX.

Applications can be made throughout the 2011/12 academic year. The final deadline for receipt of applications is 1st June 2012.

Please note: a section of the application form will need to be signed off by the School to confirm the use of the overseas trip.

These bursaries were instituted as a memorial under the bequest of Professor W D Robson-Scott, MA, DPhil, Lecturer in German 1939–61, Reader 1961–66 and Professor of German Language and Literature 1966–68.
