Birkbeck has been London’s only specialist provider of part-time, evening higher education since it was founded in 1823. Established experts in the field of part-time education, we have a real understanding of the needs of our students.

All of our face-to-face taught courses are offered by evening study, which means our part-time students can fit their studies around full-time work or family commitments; our full-time students can do research or part-time work during the day.

On a more personal level, our academic staff have a wealth of experience and expertise in supporting and encouraging students undertaking study on top of work and other commitments.

Full-time study options

At postgraduate and MPhil/PhD level, you can choose to study our courses full-time. An increasing number of students are choosing to study with us via this route.
