Induction evening for new students
At the beginning of each academic year, we arrange an induction evening for our new students.
At the induction event you will find out more about Birkbeck and its facilities and meet your course team. Expected presentations will be from:
- Staff from the Department
- IT Services
- our disability officer
- the library
- and SICS careers services
The Department’s Handbook with reading lists and a complete teaching timetable will be available for your collection. However, the induction evening isn’t just about registering and collecting information. It’s also a social event designed to give you the opportunity to talk to staff and students involved with the degrees, and to get to know the people you will be studying alongside during your course.
