The range of sports management programmes will help you develop a deeper understanding of management, marketing, governance and regulatory issues within the business of sport. They are ideally suited to those that aspire to work in the sport industry, as well as for those currently working within a variety of sport organisations such as professional sport clubs, governing bodies, media organisations, members of supporters’ organisations, and local government officials with responsibilities in the sport and leisure field.

MSc Sport Management

The MSc Sport Management programme combines specialist teaching about the principles and practice of sport management and economics with general training in management, business organisation, strategy and research methods. It covers several key areas, such as governance and regulatory issues, with emphasis on the wider sport sector.

MSc Sport Management and the Business of Football

The MSc Sport Management and the Business of Football was one of the first postgraduate courses in the UK tailored specifically to the sport industry and has gone on to become one of the leading courses in the UK. The course will help you develop an understanding of management issues within the business of sport and particularly within the football industry. The dissertation element of the programme requires that students focus their research on the football industry.

MSc Sport Management and Marketing

The MSc Sport Marketing combines specialist teaching about marketing principles with the principles and practices of sport management. This programme will be of benefit to those that have already acquired an appreciation of marketing and wish to develop further insights into the subject and to use the knowledge gained to embark on a management or marketing related career within the sport industry. The dissertation requires that students focus their research on an aspect of marketing and apply it within the context of the sport industry.

Sports Marketing (MSc)

The sport marketing programme is aimed at those that wish to develop their understanding of marketing within the sport industry and use their knowledge to embark on a sports marketing or sports marketing related career. It provides a broad-based knowledge and understanding of marketing theories, concepts and principles and combines this with a greater understanding of the sports industry.

Postgraduate Certificate in Sport Management (Postgraduate Certificate)

The Postgraduate Certificate in Sport Management provides students with an understanding of key management issues within the sport industry. Subjects to be studied include sport economics, sport governance, sport marketing and sport events, providing a broad background to the sport industry.

Sport Governance Certificate (Postgraduate Certificate)

The Postgraduate Certificate in Sport Governance introduces students to issues of governance and regulation and how they apply within the sport industry. It will provide students with a thorough introduction to theoretical issues in corporate governance and sport economics, and link these to the governance and regulation of sport in practice.

Entry requirements:

Second class honours degree or equivalent. Relevant experience may be taken into consideration.

An overall IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent. Pre-sessional English course available if required.

A professional or other qualification obtained by written examinations approved by the College.
