How to apply
Our course applications are done online. Simply go to the Birkbeck central course listings and apply online. The basic process is:
- You apply online for your chosen course
- You will be invited to a selection evening
- If you are accepted, you will be invited to an admissions day
We begin processing applications in January of the year of entry and continue to consider them up until 30th September. We will do all we can to get your application processed promptly but the best advice is always to apply as early as possible.
Don't delay sending in your application by waiting for reference forms to be completed. In many cases, we can make a decision without these.
What happens after you submit your application?
Completed application forms are initially processed by the Registry, who then forward them to us.
Once your details have been entered onto our system, we will send you notification that we have received your application. The form is then handed to the admissions tutor responsible for your chosen programme. We assess applicants by a variety of methods, and there is a possibility you may be contacted for an informal interview by the admissions tutor.
Due to the volume of applications that we receive, and the meticulous manner in which they are all assessed, it will take at least a month before you hear from us. If it has been longer than a month, or you urgently need to receive a decision - for example so that you can apply for a scholarship - then you should contact our course team to find out more.
Once your application has been processed, you will be invited to a Selection Evening.
