- Corporate governance in sport
- The role of the board in sport organisations
- Regulation within sport
Current research
Geoff’s research interests are in the areas of corporate responsibility and corporate governance. He is particularly interested in how these concepts are applied within the sport industry. In 2010 he was funded by UEFA through the Universities Research Grant Programme to undertake research on CSR in European football and more recently has been involved with the development of the Voluntary Code of Good Governance for the Sport and Recreation Sector, an initiative led by the Sport and Recreation Alliance in the UK in 2011. He is currently working on an EU funded project to expand this code into Europe whilst undertaking case study research on board processes at a national governing body of sport in the UK.
