MA Intercultural Communication for Business and Professions

'Attending the MA IC program at Birkbeck, University of London was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. Never before have I grown more in only one year, developing my educational, business as well as personal background.

'First of all, an exciting choice of modules was a fabulous feature of the course, coupled with experienced, knowledgeable and friendly intercultural trainers and lecturers. Few things were more intellectually stimulating than the various Birkbeck College Applied Linguistics Society meetings and parties we had, and I have learned new practical skills as BCALS Newsletter Editor and Blog Administrator. When I was an assistant during the 3rd Bloomsbury Student Conference of Applied Linguistics, I was able to exchange ideas with people from all over the world.

'When I had any questions or concerns, Birkbeck staff immediately offered their advice and solutions. Being course representative on my MA course, but also interacting with fellow students and staff members that I have met, added to a wonderful experience. Interacting with them resulted in conversations and additional, practical training in "intercultural communication" I never want to miss. I keep in contact with many of them.

'In addition, I am very thankful for my wonderful tutor, who provided such valuable support throughout my MA dissertation. I really enjoyed writing it and am therefore thinking about continuing as a PhD student at Birkbeck. All in all, I believe that this experience has shaped the way I am and feel about myself. Most importantly I am ready to face future challenges: Life is a labyrinth, explore it!'
