The latest Thomson Reuters Journal Impact Factors, which measure citations from journals in Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science indexes accrued in 2015 by articles published in International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism during 2013 and 2014 showed a marked increase in impact.

The journal, published by Taylor & Francis and edited by Professor Jean-Marc Dewaele since 2013, received an Impact Factor of 1.338, placing it 52/230 in the Education & Educational Research category and 32/179 in the Linguistics category of the 2015 Journal Citation Reports – the top quartile of both categories. This is an increase from the 2014 Impact Factor, which was 1.027. The 5 year Impact Factor has also increased this year from 1.253 to 1.529.
