Books

Search the Library catalogue to find books (tab above). It can be accessed from any PC that has access to the Web and no username and password is needed. You will need your Library barcode number (on the back of your College ID card) to reserve and renew books.

If you are a Birkbeck Stratford student with a UEL card, you also have access to a dedicated collection of learning resources held in room 121 at University of East London (UEL) Stratford Campus Library, referred to as the Birkbeck Collection. To search the UEL Stratford Campus Library catalogue to find books go to UEL Library catalogue. N.B. After your search results are displayed, select the 'Birkbeck Collection' in the 'Refine My Results' section on the right. The rest of the UEL Stratford Campus Library collection can be consulted for reference purposes.

Journals

Print Journals

Search the Library catalogue to find print journals (tab above). It can be accessed from any PC that has access to the Internet and no username and password is needed. Print journals are kept in alphabetical order by title on Level 4 of the Library

Electronic Journals

The Library subscribes to over 25,000 electronic journals, many of which can be accessed from outside College with your ITS username and password. Click on the eLibrary tab above and select Ejournals to access them. Also under eLibrary you will find a link to BIROn - Birkbeck Institutional Research Online. This is a database of research papers by Birkbeck academic staff.
