The eLibrary – much more online …

The Library is much more than what you see when you look around – we also have an extensive eLibrary that you can access from home, work or wherever you have an internet connection, 24 hours a day, so that you can work whenever is convenient for you.  You will just need your IT Services username and password to log in. See http://www.bbk.ac.uk/lib/elib/ for more details.

The eLibrary gives you access to:

  • Ejournals – we subscribe to around 25,000 titles online
  • Databases – use these when you need to find what’s been written in academic journals on a particular topic or by a particular author. We also have databases that give you online newspapers and others that give you statistical information.
  • BIROn – our repository of Birkbeck research, containing articles written by Birkbeck staff
  • Online images – including London Architecture Online and Garden History Online
  • Past exam papers – refine your revision by looking at past questions
  • Endnote Web – reference management software

If you get stuck, you can get help with using the eLibrary by phone or email during help desk hours (020 7631 6063, library-help@bbk.ac.uk).

Our Saturday workshops will give you hands-on practice of using various electronic resources and the chance to ask questions – see the workshop programme at http://www.bbk.ac.uk/lib/infoskills/
