Making the most of the Library during the exam period

Birkbeck Library is open 08.30 - 23.45 daily.

Plan ahead

The Library’s busiest period is mid to late afternoon when study spaces can be hard to find. Remember that you can also use the ITS workstations rooms that are available in the Malet Street building. There is real-time information about the availability of Library study spaces  and which ITS workstation rooms are open .

Take a break

Look after yourself and use one of our ‘I’m taking a break’ cards to reserve your desk for up to 30 minutes and let other students know you will be back.

Find the right resources

Use the Library website to access your subject guide, past exam papers and our eLibrary.

Remember it’s a shared space

We have quiet, silent and group study areas: make sure you choose the space that reflects your personal preference. Drinks can be brought into the Library but no food. Always go to the Phone Zone before you make your call and use the recycling bins to clear away your rubbish.

Ask for help if you need it

Speak to us in person, use our live chat or contact us by email or telephone.

Good luck!
