What's available while the Library is closed for Christmas

Although Birkbeck’s main Malet Street building will be completely closed over the Christmas period, (from 16:00 on Thursday 21 December 2017 to Tuesday 2 January 2018 inclusive), the eLibrary will be available throughout this period

Whether you access the Library website directly, via your My Birkbeck profile, or through the Birkbeck app, there are great online resources, including help, available to you 24/7.

Library Catalogue & eLibrary

  • You can also renew items and place requests online in the normal way.
  • No items (or fines) will be due between 22 December and 2 January.
  • Holds on requested items will also be extended over the same period.

The eLibrary will function 24/7 as normal for accessing e-resources.

  • These include: ejournals, eBooks, databases, past exam papers, image collections, etc.

  • There are also guides on how to get the most from specific databases: these can be found on the pages of individual databases via the A–Z listing.
  • Most databases also include their own Help section, and many have training videos on YouTube.
