What if the material I require is not held at Birkbeck?

When you are researching a specialised topic we may not have all the material you require at Birkbeck. However, there are many other options open to you:

Other libraries:
As a Birkbeck student you are entitled to use many other libraries, both in London and throughout the UK. Here are further details of the various access schemes that Birkbeck belongs to.

Finding out where material is held:
Our Library web site has a page of links to the catalogues and web sites of other libraries. You can use the Union List of Serials to find journals in the London area, InforM25 to search for books and journals across all libraries in the M25 area, COPAC to search the combined catalogues of the UK's major research libraries and SUNCAT to locate journals in UK academic libraries.

Interlibrary loan:
If the material you require is not held in any local library, you can apply for an Interlibrary loan. Further details and forms are available from the help desk and on the web site.
