Access

Access to Eikon is only available in the Library for Birkbeck students and staff. There is 1 Eikon PC at Birkbeck Library, which is located near the Help Desk on the first floor of the Library. If the machine is logged out, please ask the member of staff on the Help Desk to log into the machine.

Each slot is 30 minutes long, you can book 4 slots per day and you can book up to a week in advance. The Eikon PC is available to book during the following hours:

Monday - Sunday: 9am – 11:30pm

NB: Please ensure you book a terminal to guarantee your session. All bookings will have priority. If there is no booking, the terminal is free to use. The terminal is available when the Library is open, usually 8:30am-11:45pm, 7 days a week during term time. Click here to check opening hours.

What does it cover?

  • Incorporates Datastream.
  • Comprehensive historical financial data and economic information with securities and indicators for over 175 countries in 60 markets for the past 50 years.
  • Covering both developed and emerging markets, the data includes bonds, commodities and derivatives, company accounts, equities, futures and options, interest and exchange rates, international macroeconomics, market indices, unit and investment trusts.
  • Data and charts can be exported into Excel, PowerPoint or Word.
