Sessional Lecturer's College ID/Library card and IT Services Account

You are entitled to personal borrowing at the Birkbeck College Library located in the main building on Malet Street.The College Library provides books, journals, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and networked information services to support College courses taught by the various Schools.

Sessional Lecturers [new to the College]

Once you have returned your signed contract and your payroll information to your Administrator you can then ask them to arrange an appointment with the College's Estates department to have a College ID/Library Card made up for you or you can send in a jpeg photograph to your Administrator or directly to: staffaccess@bbk.ac.uk (including details of your name and address).

  • Having received your Birkbeck ID/Library card you should then bring this to the College Library Issue Desk and fill out the staff application form in order to have your record created on the Library system.

As soon as your details have been processed by your Administrator, the IT Services department will set up an ITS account for you and a username and password will be emailed to you.

Sessional Lecturers [returning/renewal]

If you have your Birkbeck ID from a previous year, you should then

  • Bring your Birkbeck ID, a copy of your new contract and a passport sized photograph with you to the College Library Issue Desk along with a completed  staff application form and your record will be updated on the Library System and a new Library card produced.
