How do I - Use my laptop?

Readers are welcome to use a laptop computer in the library. You can also gain access to the Birkbeck Wireless Network from most areas in the library.

The following guidelines should be noted:

• The safety and security of your laptop is your responsibility. Do not leave it unattended at any time. Consider investing in a "Kensington lock". There is also anti-theft software available that can track down your laptop, phone and tablet if they go missing.
• Laptops may not be used in the Reading Room Collection as this is a designated area for silent study
• Please have consideration for other library users and turn your laptop's volume down or use headphones
• Signs indicating the wireless signal strength are posted in the library.
• Please do not attempt to plug network cables into network points on any desk.
