Centre for Transformative Practice Annual Conference 2013/2014

Assessment for Learning: transforming student learning through assessment and feedback

Our annual conference considered ways in which we might have assessment for learning rather than assessment of learning. The keynote lecture on ‘Transforming the Experiences of Students through Assessment’was given by Professor Paul Hyland, Head of Learning and Teaching and of the Centre for Learning and Teaching Development at Bath Spa University.

During this highly successful day, participants explored assessment and feedback for progression; assessing through levels 4-7; balancing formative and summative assessment; and using technology to enhance assessment and feedback.

Recordings of the keynote and other presentations are available.

This conference formed part of the work undertaken within the Innovative Assessment Project This project was funded by the Higher Education Academy and led by Professor Susan Jackson, Pro-Vice-Master for Learning and Teaching.
