Giving Feedback and Encouraging Feed-Forward

The material from the projects in this section is wide ranging. There are quick guides to feedback for both students and academics but there are also resources which allow a more in-depth exploration of what makes for efficient and effective feedback.

  • Final report of Oxford Brookes ASKE project funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (report date 2008) around creative and effective feedback (including engaging students with assessment feedback). There are examples and recommendations that are useful for those wishing to look again at their feedback practice: http://www.brookes.ac.uk/aske/documents/FDTL_FeedbackProjectReportApril2009.pdf
  • Link to ASKe’s collection of ‘123’ PDF leaflets. These PDFs have been designed to provide practical advice on how student learning from assessment & feedback can be improved. The material applies research to practice and includes information for tutors and students. The subjects covered include exercises to help students engage in feedback and ways of making peer feedback work: http://www.brookes.ac.uk/aske/resources/index.html
