Justice Edwin Cameron

Justice Edwin Cameron, from the South African Supreme Court of Appeal and internationally renowned HIV/AIDS human rights campaigner, has accepted an invitation to become a Visiting Judge at the School of Law, Birkbeck.

Justice Cameron delivered a lecture at Birkbeck in 2008, co-hosted with NAM and the National Aids Trust, on Using the Law in the AIDS Epidemic: Sword or Shield? Described by Nelson Mandela as 'one of South Africa's New Heroes', Justice Cameron was the first senior South African official to state publicly that he was living with HIV/Aids.
