Joy provides pedagogic leadership in the development and implementation of learning initiatives to help fulfil the learning objectives of students and staff. She directs the study skills and learning development programme, including lectures, workshops, and tutorials, across the School of Law, leads projects on learning initiatives and delivers staff development activities across the School. Joy is also available to meet with students individually and discuss any specific needs they have during her office hours (see above).

  • Writing essays at UG and PG level
  • Writing a dissertation
  • Writing a literature review
  • Referencing and avoiding plagiarism
  • Giving presentations

Joy joined the School of Law in 2018 as a Learning Development Tutor. She is a qualified teacher with 13 years teaching experience. Joy has experience of teaching children, teenagers and adults; most recently she taught English for Academic Purposes to non-native speakers of English at postgraduate level. Her teaching interests include academic reading and writing. Joy has a BSc in Management Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Law/Legal Practice Certificate, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, and a Master of Education M.Ed (Cantab).
