Areas of research supervision
Over the years, I have supervised doctoral research in various areas of legal and moral philosophy and social theory and theoretically informed projects in human rights.
Past PhD supervisions have included:
- Law and Literature ('The Jurisprudence of Finnegans' Wake')
- Law and Images ('The relationship between law/lawyers and art/artists')
- Law and Psychoanalysis ('An Erotics of Law', 'A psychoanalytical view of legal advocacy')
- Human Rights ('Prisoners Rights', 'Womens Rights and Sexual Violence during Wars', 'Globalisation and Law', 'Human Rights and Postmodernity')
- Classics and Law ('Justice in Greek Tragedy')
- Philosophy and Law ('Law, Ethics and the Subject of Politics', 'Sacrifice and Law', 'Heidegger, Law and Justice')
- Postmodern cultural and spatial politics
I am happy to consider supervision in any of these and adjacent areas of social and legal theory. If you are interested in pursuing research in any of these areas, you should first read our advice on how to apply for MPhil/PhD research before submitting an application.
