Teaching

I am currently on research leave (Leverhulme Research Fellowship, 2016-18).

I was Director of the BA Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies Programme (2015-16) and Director of the MA/MRes Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies Programme (2007-10).

My areas of teaching include: postcolonial histories of photography and film; cross-cultural histories of collecting; alternative urban modernities; cultural geography; tropicality; history of travel and visual technologies; digital humanities.
